Starfish and Madlug: A match made in heaven!

One of the core practices of Starfish KIDS has been to provide gym bags and backpacks to looked after children who attend camp. You can imagine our thrill when someone told us about Madlug, a Northern Irish firm dedicated to providing luggage for children in care. Madlug, brainchild of Dave Linton, sells high quality backpacks, bum bags, gym bags and more. But the “secret sauce” of this organisation is their commitment to the marginalised. For every bag purchased from Madlug, they will provide a bag free of charge to a child in foster care.

Bryan and Misty Elliott, Camp Developers for The Starfish Alliance, met with Dave near Belfast to share the Starfish story. It wasn’t long before they and Dave realised that their hearts were pointing in the same direction. A few more phone calls and emails later, and campers at our 2019 camp all received free backpacks, compliments of Madlug. We look forward to a long partnership with Madlug.
